Rough Cut Jeweler is the creative work of tattoo artist, gem cutter, and silversmith Dave Marcotte.

After spending over two decades creating art through tattooing, Dave discovered a new creative outlet in 2020: cutting opal. What began as curiosity quickly became a passion. The challenge of reading rough stone, uncovering hidden color, and transforming raw material into something extraordinary became impossible to ignore.

As interest grew, so did requests from clients wanting to purchase his stones and eventually wear them as jewelry. That demand led Dave into silversmithing, where he found another way to bring his artistic vision to life.

Today, every piece represents a combination of craftsmanship, patience, intuition, and respect for the natural beauty hidden within each stone.
